Hanna Wiskari Griffiths
Programme coordinator/Musical director Swedish saxophonist Hanna has been based in New Zealand since 2016. She grew up with the Scandinavian traditional music, graduated from the Folk Music programme at the Royal college of Music in Stockholm and has been active as a musician and tutor for more than 15 years. Hanna attended her first Ethno as a teenager and has been an Artistic leader for Ethno Sweden since 2010 and Ethno Australia in 2016.
Programme Coordinator/Funding and Community Engagement Sarah has a passion for using the arts to develop intercultural understanding and ultimately positive social change. Sarah supports those who have arrived in New Zealand as refugees or as migrants and has a grounding in community development and human rights advocacy.
Camp Coordinator Vanya is a music educator with a solid grounding in youth development and peace education methodologies. She has coordinated multiple camps for youth. Vanya has participated in Ethno Belgium and has been an integral part of the Ethno Oceania founding team.
Event Organiser Jeremy Hantler BMus (hons) Grad Dip. Tchng, has a strong background in music education and performance. He is a percussionist, Instrument repairer, and taonga puoro maker. In 2017 Jeremy travelled to Ethno Sweden and Ethno Estonia on full scholarship to study working with youth in a world music context. In January 2018/2019 he was an Artistic leaders at the Ethno New Zealand camps and has attended Ethno World’s Artistic leaders course - Ethnofonik- in Paris, France.
Event Organiser Fijian born Tristan Hancock spent his childhood sailing through the Pacific Islands and traveling the world. After studying jazz guitar, post-production/sound design and Ethnomusicology, he has been a composer and educator and a member of several World Music and Jazz groups.
Financial Adviser I am a Financial Adviser and Investor with a passion for creativity, music and dance. Having been to an Ethno event, I was so inspired by the absolute joy it evoked among the performers and guests. When offered a chance to be part of Ethno, I was more than happy to help in a way my skills were best suited for.
